sorry, no pics yet

I know you all want to see pics of the new house, but the cable to hook up my camera to the computer has yet to be located in the towers of boxes...

I will post again as soon as I can.

11985 Tavernier Dr.

Reggie and I like watching all those home shows on HGTV: House Hunters, My House is Worth What?, and of course Property Virgins.  Well, we are no longer property virgins.  We own a beautiful house in Fishers, IN.  We closed last Thursday with minimal problems.  (My name was spelled wrong on all the paperwork, so we had to wait while they re-printed everything.)  On Friday, Mom and I repainted the master bedroom from an awful chocolate milk brown (my brother-in-law called it 'Yoo-Hoo brown') to a very pretty light gray-blue.  Meanwhile, Dad tinkered on various little projects--hanging a shower curtain rod, fixing a door, patching holes, etc.  On Saturday, we repainted my office to 'Retro Colonial Blue,' the dads did more tinkering (and watched the golfers out back), and Reggie's mom trimmed the hedges and did some weeding.  Reg helped paint a little, but mostly just supervised everyone else.  And we even met a couple of the neighbors, who seem really nice.  It was a good weekend.  (Although I wish I could have gone out to CMI for a night or two.)

Now, we just have to move.  The movers are coming Thursday to pack everything, and on Friday they are loading it onto the trucks.  So Friday night, we will be sleeping on an air mattress for our last night in Illinois.  (We figure we'll be too tired to drive down that evening.)  Saturday, we'll clean up, turn in our keys to the townhouse and head for Indiana.  BUT, not to our new house.  Oh, no.  Those movers won't have our stuff there until at least Tuesday or Wednesday.  Ugh!!  So, we will have a few more nights in Reggie's tiny apartment.

I'm kinda nervous about the moving part.  I have to trust Reggie will keep an eye on things because on Thursday and Friday mornings, I will be auditing, and next week I have to be in Jacksonville for department meetings.  Grr!

I will post pictures of the house as soon as I can....

By the way--Beth, we have no animals, so come visit anytime!

Well, we got our mortgage and homeowner's insurance, the appraisal and inspection are done, and the movers are coming Friday to see how much crap we have.  Everything is going well.  Our closing is set for next Thursday.  We are so excited!

In the meantime, here are some summer time pictures:

Summer 2008 004 At the 2008 Indy 500.

Summer 2008 026 Segway Tour in June.  (Sexy helmets, right?)

That's all for now, folks!

Our House?

I don't want to jinx anything yet, but we found a great house in Fishers, IN, and after going back and forth with the sellers a few times, we finally agreed on a price!  We are so excited!  It has four bedrooms, 3 1/2 baths, a finished walk-out basement that overlooks a golf course and pond, and an office/library for me to work from home.   Here is a picture of the house:

Please pray that everything goes smoothly with the rest of the process.

I've been wanting to post an update for a long time, but I have been so busy.  Reg and I are getting ready to relocate to the Indianapolis area.  I will write more about all that later.  For now, I just wanted to post this picture of me and Madelyn at the Lincoln Park Zoo last week.  Aren't we cute?!
