| Reggie and I like watching all those home shows on HGTV: House Hunters, My House is Worth What?, and of course Property Virgins. Well, we are no longer property virgins. We own a beautiful house in Fishers, IN. We closed last Thursday with minimal problems. (My name was spelled wrong on all the paperwork, so we had to wait while they re-printed everything.) On Friday, Mom and I repainted the master bedroom from an awful chocolate milk brown (my brother-in-law called it 'Yoo-Hoo brown') to a very pretty light gray-blue. Meanwhile, Dad tinkered on various little projects--hanging a shower curtain rod, fixing a door, patching holes, etc. On Saturday, we repainted my office to 'Retro Colonial Blue,' the dads did more tinkering (and watched the golfers out back), and Reggie's mom trimmed the hedges and did some weeding. Reg helped paint a little, but mostly just supervised everyone else. And we even met a couple of the neighbors, who seem really nice. It was a good weekend. (Although I wish I could have gone out to CMI for a night or two.) Now, we just have to move. The movers are coming Thursday to pack everything, and on Friday they are loading it onto the trucks. So Friday night, we will be sleeping on an air mattress for our last night in Illinois. (We figure we'll be too tired to drive down that evening.) Saturday, we'll clean up, turn in our keys to the townhouse and head for Indiana. BUT, not to our new house. Oh, no. Those movers won't have our stuff there until at least Tuesday or Wednesday. Ugh!! So, we will have a few more nights in Reggie's tiny apartment. I'm kinda nervous about the moving part. I have to trust Reggie will keep an eye on things because on Thursday and Friday mornings, I will be auditing, and next week I have to be in Jacksonville for department meetings. Grr! I will post pictures of the house as soon as I can.... By the way--Beth, we have no animals, so come visit anytime! |
